Dr. Weiner joined William James College in 2002 and teaches Introduction to Psychodynamic Theory. She has had extensive experience working with adult survivors of trauma and abuse. She trained and worked at the Victims of Violence Program, Cambridge Hospital. and continues to be interested in working with patients with a history of trauma. Dr. Weiner is currently a candidate at the Massachusetts Institute of Psychoanalysis. She has a special interest in psychoanalytic theory and teaches the Introduction to Psychodynamic Theory course. Dr. Weiner is originally from South Africa where she worked with children and families as a psychologist prior to immigrating to the United States. Dr. Weiner is a licensed psychologist with a general clinical practice in Brookline. She sees patients for intensive psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. Her major research interests are trauma, parent development, and psychoanalytic theory. Dr. Weiner also has a special interest in parenting and parent development. She has worked as a contributing editor for a website devoted to parenting, developmental and educational issues for parents and children.
