Jay Ryan, PhD

Jay Ryan is a child psychologist with over 30 years experience working with children, adolescents and families.  His specialty areas of practice are ADD/ADHD, anxiety, depression, school related issues, parenting and family systems.  Dr. Ryan is a consultant to three public school districts, four Montessori Schools, and several preschool and childcare centers.  He conducts in-service training for teachers and school personnel and supervises clinical psychology doctoral students from William James College.  Dr. Ryan received his doctorate at Boston University (1980) and trained in clinics in the Fitchburg/Leominster area, the EPDA Consultation Project at B.U. Medical Center, Ackerman Institute for Family Therapy and Worcester Youth Guidance Center.   His teaching experience includes Assumption College Graduate Program in Counseling Psychology (clinical training director) and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.  He was co-director of Psychiatry and Family Counseling, LLP, a child, adolescent and family practice in central Massachusetts for 26 years before joining the faculty at William James College.  He maintains a clinical practice in Worcester, Leominster and Westborough, Massachusetts.
