Dr. Judy Leavitt is a licensed psychologist and Diplomate Certified Sex Therapist. She has a private practice in Wayland, Mass. where she works with individuals, couples and families. At William James College in Boston, Mass., she is an adjunct faculty teaching Women’s Psychosexual Development, Human Sexuality, and Couples Therapy. For many years she taught at the Smith School of Social Work. In addition she worked as a senior family business consultant at Transition Consulting Group for fifteen years. She often speaks at mental health centers, hospitals and professional conferences such as the Harvard Medical School conference “Aspects of Aging” in 2006 and “Treating Couples” in 2009. In 1993 she was voted as “Teacher of the Year” at Interface in Cambridge, Mass. Dr. Leavitt is the author of the books The Sexual Alarm System: Women’s Unwanted Response to Sexual Intimacy and How to Overcome It and Common Dilemmas in Couple Therapy.
