Dr. Kristen Aberle is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with specialized experience working with children, adolescents, and families. She practiced for seven years in community mental health clinics and hospitals in the city of Chicago, which instilled a passion for working with underserved and culturally diverse populations. Within these settings, Dr. Aberle provided psychotherapy and psychological testing services to children and adolescents often presenting with complex trauma histories. While on internship at Citrus Health Network, Inc. (Hialeah, FL), she had the opportunity to also work with adult clients experiencing a diverse array of presenting problems. Dr. Aberle has a particular interest in identifying barriers to mental health treatment in order to develop creative ways to engage clients and reduce the stigma associated with mental illness across various cultural groups. Dr. Aberle is a graduate of Roosevelt University and completed post-doctoral training at Mt. Sinai Hospital, both in Chicago, IL. In addition to teaching at William James College, Dr. Aberle currently works in private practice addressing the various needs of child, adolescent, and adult clients.
