SCH PS506 - Evidence-based Instruction
This course will provide an introduction to evidence-based instructional practices for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, and intellectual disabilities. The course will provide students with an overview of procedures to teach discrimination, communication, social, and self-help skills. Teaching procedures that will be reviewed include prompting/prompt fading procedures, match-to-sample discrimination training, discrete trial training, shaping, video modeling, and task analyses. The goal of the course is to provide students with an introduction to empirically-validated teaching procedures for individuals with moderate to severe disabilities.
