I have always had a deep passion of getting to know people and their unique stories. The resilience of people constantly amazes me! I love seeing people rise to be their best selves. As a child I remember always wanting to advocate for the unnoticed and unheard across all communities.

In my professional career I have been working in the human service field for nearly a decade and I currently supervise a home for women with developmental disabilities. Here at William James College, I am enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Services program.

I chose William James College for several reasons; I wanted to attend a college that was diverse in the population of both leadership and students, that was innovative and current in its pursuit of knowledge, and that put humans first rather than work output. I am currently apart of the Inclusive Excellence Committee at William James College, and I am also the lead of A.C.E.S which is the Academic Council of Engaging Students otherwise known as a student council.

At work I am a part of several committees such as the Diversity and Inclusion Council, the Employee Engagement Committee, the Presidents Quality Circle, and the Strategic Planning Committee. I believe that to ignite change you must be and active participant in the change you want to see. At William James College, I am a part of a community who shares in the sentiment of really being the change we want to see in our world.

Some words of advice for new students are to communicate your successes as well as your struggles with the faculty at William James College. I have seen tangible changes made just from me voicing what matters to me to the faculty and that is a great environment to be a part of.
