School Psychology MA/CAGS
Class of 2021
My name is Rose Turner and I am from Bedford, MA. I am currently enrolled in the School Psychology MA/CAGS program at William James College. I graduated from Providence College in May of 2016 where I majored in Psychology and minored in Business Studies. I then worked as a behavioral technician at an ABA center for children with Autism and other intellectual disabilities. I was given the opportunity to provide ABA services to one of my clients at his school, in which I discovered a great need for mental health services in schools. Following this experience and with some research, I found my niche in working in schools and continuing my passion in helping children and adolescents.
I chose William James College because they emphasized the importance of field experience and training. Unlike other graduate schools, WJC students begin their field experience on their first day. I also appreciate that the school’s focus is all about Psychology. Classes are taught by mental health professionals, many of whom are currently working in the field. Lastly, I continue to feel the support of my professors and the staff, as well as my cohort. WJC is a welcoming community that will challenge and support you throughout your entire graduate career.
I am excited to assume the role as a Student Ambassador for incoming students, both at interview days and in various webinars. My advice for perspective students is to decide for yourself, what is important to you and to follow that path! There are endless opportunities to pursue in School Psychology. Please feel free to reach out to me, as I look forward to answering any questions you may have. Hopefully, I get the chance to guide you through your potential future at William James College.
