ORG HC001 - Health Coaching Principles and Practices

This course examines theoretical frameworks of evidence-based coaching and current practices relevant to health coaching. Students will explore coaching competencies, professional ethics and diversity. The course will cover construction of a coaching engagement. Students will practice basic coaching skills.
Learning goals: Upon completion students will:
- Understand coaching as a discipline informed by psychology and behavioral medicine
- Differentiate between coaching and related disciplines outside the scope of coaching, such as psychotherapy and medical interventions
- Gain proficiency in basic coaching skills of building rapport, listening, and asking powerful questions
