ORG HC002 - Health Coaching Skills and Techniques

This course is largely experiential, using role plays and coaching demonstrations to learn the tools of coaching. The course focuses on the skills and techniques used by health coaches, including elements of the coaching conversation and motivational interviewing. Students will practice assessment and development planning.
Learning goals: Upon completion students will:
- Develop a repertoire of coaching skills and an understanding of appropriate context for various skills
- Be proficient in the use of motivational interviewing to facilitate behavioral change
- Understand the arc of an entire coaching engagement from initial meeting through planning and implementing through terminating
