Our professional coaches act resources to support and guide leaders through the challenges that often define the culture of the school or district. Culture is not always the easiest or most obvious topic assess from an internal perspective. Our consultants work with districts to uncover issues that are impeding the learning process and customize programs to meet those needs. We help schools develop learning cultures that benefit students and staff.

Every classroom needs to offer a safe place to learn, both physically and academically. For adults to create such environments they themselves must feel physically and psychologically safe.

When educators believe that each student can learn, they embrace their role as change agents and see themselves as the most significant factor in a student receiving a good education. This is the fundamental definition of having a growth mindset. BHELS provides professional development and support in how to incorporate growth mindset research into the day to day life of a school, the work of a school leader, and the daily interactions between teachers and students.

The increased need for collaboration within school communities also requires new skills to manage conflict and navigate difficult conversations. How do we deliver criticism with kindness, bridge differences in philosophy and approach, and learn the communication skills that help us address the hard to talk about issues that can potentially damage relationships? BHELS teaches educators how to initiate and sustain these often difficult conversations and strengthen the skills necessary to transform conflict into learning.

Actions speak louder than words and how people are treated when they fail to achieve what they hoped to achieve greatly influences the level of trust in a community. We train, coach and support classroom, school and district leaders to develop and apply policies that promote psychological safety and build trust.
