An Announcement from the Office of Continuing Professional Education Online registration for our Continuing Professional Education Programs is now faster and easier than ever, with the launch of our new registration tool, Cvent. We hope you enjoy the new and improved experience the next time you register for a William James College CE event. A Letter from the President of William James College Dear Colleagues, I went to the Holiday Pops with friends and the maestro intro- duced the program by commenting on how deeply divided our country is in so many ways. At the Pops! We have such frequent evidence of intolerance, trauma and abuse that they merit commentary at a cultural event. These times call for strategic leadership and compassionate healing. Organizational change and access to mental health care for Veterans and their families, refugees adjusting to new lives, victims of violence, families who suffer from substance use disorders, children with depression and a society reordering cultural, racial and economic norms are some of the reasons why William James College is working to educate organizational leaders and the next generation of mental health professionals. In fulfillment of the directives from the Vail Conference on Psychology Training, William James is equipping the behavioral health workforce with skills and degrees from the BS to the MA, through CAGS to the PsyD. Our specialty programs in Military Veteran Psychology, Multicultural and Global Mental Health, and Children and Families of Adversity and Resilience represent our commitment to become close to the community to provide service and to receive input for curriculum development. In the upcoming year, we will launch a new Criminal Justice program and specialty training program for those who will work with people dealing with addictions. As participants in our CE programs, you are valued members of our community. We look for your suggestions and appreciate your partnership as we continue: “Meeting the Needs and Making a Difference” to position us for a better year in 2018. Gratefully, Nicholas Covino, PysD, President William James College Dean R. Abby Director, Continuing & Community Education Jenny Hopf Director, Online & Professional Education
