Clinical Psychology PsyD, and Clinical Health Psychology Concentration
I chose William James College specifically because of its commitment to community and the underserved, as well as the individual attention that each of the professors are able to offer given the smaller class size. That is a learning environment in which I know I learn best and know that the people actually care about what they do and recognize the power we have as care providers
2) Describe your experience at William James College?
“The content of courses like Diversity & Cross-Cultural Psychology has changed me as a person and has made me a better clinician.”I have been impressed by the mentorship of many faculty and staff members at William James College. They all find a way to connect with the students and offer tremendous support. The institution is very transparent and respectful toward the students as agents of their own education. If there is an issue, there is no reason why it cannot be resolved at William James with everyone on the same page.
Personally, I have grown so much since starting my first year. The progress that I’ve had through field experience and content of courses like Diversity & Cross-Cultural Psychology has changed me as a person and has made me a better clinician.
3) What do you envision doing in your career post-graduation?
I would like to do a psycho-oncology focused post-doc with an organization like Dana Farber, considering my concentration in Health Psychology. I think that would be an excellent experience and would also help me network in the field after completing school. After that, I see myself working with chronically ill individuals and people suffering from drug addiction – especially the families and caregivers of both populations.
