Niko Wilson, PhD

Niko received an MA in counseling psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2014, a PhD in Counselor Education from the University of Central Florida in 2021, and affiliated with the Human Trafficking Research Hub (the Hub) shortly thereafter. 

At the Hub Niko is part of a team which recently published its inaugural paper based on its research on the roles of attachment patterns and trauma-coerced bonding in the stages of survivors’ experiences of commercial sex.  Niko continues to provide support to the team on this research in an auditing capacity.

Prior to achieving her PhD, Niko had a career as Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist where she provided clinical services to support clients with complex post-traumatic stress disorder.

Niko enjoys all things nature, she loves to hike with her dogs, garden, and is a beekeeper
