Introduction to William James College's Systems
William James College has several internal systems that each play a unique role in maintaining the success of our students. Below you will find a list of the systems with their name and general functions. We hope this will help you become more familiar with the systems, as you will be using many of them frequently during your time at William James College.
All students are assigned a William James College e-mail account via Office 365. This is your lifeline to all electronic school-wide announcements and is the preferred method of communication with faculty and staff. You will receive instructions from IT Office Welcome Letter on how to activate your e-mail account and we strongly encourage you to check your e-mail regularly for important messages and updates.
As part of Office 365, students also receives a free Microsoft One Drive for Business account that can be used as personal cloud storage.
For more information on how to setup your Student Office 365 and E-mail account, please visit support.williamjames.edu and search “Office 365” or click HERE.
William James College provides wireless internet access (WIFI) throughout the entire campus. Students may access the internet, MyCampus, or wirelessly print a document using any WIFI enabled mobile computing device. For more information about setting up WIFI, please visit support.williamjames.edu and search "WIFI"
MyCampus is a system you will use quite often. MyCampus is William James College's Intranet which means it is the central hub from which you can access all school-wide information. Since MyCampus leads to all other systems, we recommend that you always login to MyCampus first, and use the navigation buttons on the MyCampus site to get to where you want to be.
Through MyCampus you can get to:
- Departmental information, forms, and documentations
- Office of Research Website and Tools
- And much more!

Canvas is William James College’s Learning Management system, which means it's the place you go to access your course websites. Level of Canvas usage varies from course to course, however at a minimum, all courses will use Canvas to post their syllabus and electronic readings. If you are a distance learning student or in a course that uses a fair amount of EdTech, you will likely spend a lot of time in Canvas.
