Insights and Innovations in Community Mental Health. This work is dedicated to the participants in the Erich Lindemann Memorial Lecture and to all their brethren who are open to new ideas and collaborations that will lead to the betterment of the mental and social health of people, communities, and society. Knowingly or unknowingly they draw inspiration and dedication from Erich Lindemann who struggled to define and teach this approach.
Erich Lindemann Memorial Lecture Series 1976-PresentDBT Practices in Alcohol Use Disorder Treatment
This one-hour presentation will introduce mental health practitioners to the practical integration of DBT skills and theory within Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) treatment. Participants will explore how DBT-informed strategies—such as emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness—can enhance motivation for change and improve treatment engagement among clients presenting with alcohol-related problems.
