Dr. Reed-Barnes is the CEO, Founder, and Principal Consultant of Stacy’s Joy Consulting LLC. With over two decades of international experience, she empowers individuals impacted by human trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation, domestic violence, mental health challenges, incarceration, and reentry. A compassionate, boots-on-the-ground frontline worker, survivor leader, advocate, and mentor, Dr. Reed-Barnes is deeply committed to walking alongside others on their healing journeys. Her own lived experiences fuel her passion for transformation and advocacy, shaping her role as a thought leader in trauma-informed care and systemic change.
Dr. Reed-Barnes currently serves as a Research Associate for the Human Trafficking Research Hub at William James College and is a proud member of the Massachusetts Governor’s Council to Address Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, and Human Trafficking.
A published author, she shares her journey through her books Stacy’s Joy… A Woman Moving Forward: The Autobiographyand Ode to Girls Like Me, using her voice to inspire healing, raise awareness, and advocate for others. She is also a 2024 and 2025 CSG Neighbor-to-Neighbor Grant recipient and a Boston Women’s Fund Liberation Leaders Award honoree.
Above all, Dr. Reed-Barnes believes in the power of resilience, community, and hope. She is dedicated to creating spaces where survivors feel seen, heard, included, and empowered to reclaim their lives. Her mission is to educate, inspire, and remind others that healing is possible and no one has should ever walk the journey alone.
