“The sun does not ask for permission to shine, and neither should you.” —Erica Gerald Maso
Having earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in African and Caribbean Mental Health from William James College in 2022, Mya Stafford joins the Clinical PsyD program hoping to expand her skills and commitment to serving diverse populations. As a first-generation student from a family of underserved Black Americans, Mya brings a unique perspective to her work in the mental health field. She profoundly desires to create a supportive environment where individuals from underrepresented communities can access high-quality mental health care from practitioners who understand and resonate with their unique experiences. Beyond her professional pursuits, she finds joy in painting, drawing, and baking.
