PDM&E Office and the Human Protections Administrator for the IRB. A North Carolina native, Alex earned a B.A.Ed. from UNC-Chapel Hill, taught English at a middle school in South Korea for two years through the Fulbright Program, and earned an M.Ed. from Peabody College at Vanderbilt University, studying developmental psychology. She has instructional and leadership experience in educational settings with individuals ranging from preschool age to retired adults. Alex has worked in research labs focused on social cognition and educational neuroscience. She is proficient in survey development, as well as database development and management, and serves as an institutional administrator for Qualtrics and REDCap. Alex performs data cleaning and data analysis for evaluation projects in R and Microsoft Excel. Alex is passionate about research that investigates meaningful impact while prioritizing rigor, consideration for human participants, and the influence of social determinants of health on outcomes.
