Boston Marathon – Alum Katherine O'Shea

Why I'm Running

Dear William James Community,

My name is Katherine O’Shea and I am thrilled to be running the 128th Boston Marathon on April 15, 2024 to represent William James College (WJC) and raise money for the School Psychology program.

I graduated from WJC in 2022 with my master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis. Thanks to my education from WJC, combined with my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from Bucknell University, I am a Kindergarten teacher in the Westford Public Schools.

At WJC, faculty member Dr. Ronald Lee, inspired us to research topics that directly related to our interests and the field of behavioral analysis. I chose to research classroom-based interventions for hyperactivity and disruptive behavior. Two years later, I still find myself utilizing these techniques to meaningfully increase the accessibility of my classroom for my students.

I know firsthand what a difference my WJC education makes in helping students thrive in school. Donor support for WJC’s School Psychology program will allow the College to expand academic programs, research opportunities, and access to scholarships while continuing to offer the high-quality education I am proud to have received.

It is my goal to have 500 community members make a donation to support the School Psychology program at WJC. All donors will receive a personalized thank you from me and a limited-edition WJC Boston Marathon sticker!

Thank you for your support!
