Hi everyone! My name is Abby Grasso and I’m a student in the School Psychology MA/CAGS program at WJC! I graduated from the University of Rhode Island where I double majored in Psychology and Human Development and Family Sciences. I grew up in Lynnfield, MA, and it’s where I’m currently living.
Entering undergrad, I envisioned myself working with kids in some capacity. When an advisor introduced me to school psychology, it sounded like the perfect path for me! While researching graduate programs, WJC stood out to me because of its size, reputation in the field, and the fieldwork opportunities. I love that we get to be in schools during our first year! It’s been so beneficial to have hands-on experience to compliment what we are learning in classroom. I’m confident that this will enhance my abilities after graduation and ease my nerves when transitioning into my new role and responsibilities as a School Psychologist.
My advice to any incoming students is to take advantage of all the resources and learning opportunities WJC offers. Everyone you will meet along the way is so supportive and has great knowledge and experience to share. Don’t hesitate to reach out to them with any questions or concerns you may have. They’re extremely helpful and a great resource to utilize!
I know this can be an overwhelming process so if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out! I’d love to help!
