Class of 2025

Hello, my name is Brigid Gunville. I grew up in the South Shore in Massachusetts. I am currently a School Psychology MA/CAGS student at William James College. I graduated from Nova Southeastern University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Public Health. I currently work as a Registered Behavior Technician using Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapy on young children with autism spectrum disorder.

During my undergraduate degree I learned about the field of school psychology and thought it was the perfect career to combine my passion in education and psychology. While researching schools William James had a strong emphasis on field education through their first-year practicum experience. This program sets their students up for success with the three years of field experience and academic courses. The professors at William James are a vital asset to my learning experience due to their extensive experience and knowledge.

My advice for incoming students is to take every opportunity at your field sites to learn and ask questions. Take advantage of your time at your field sites because it is an enriching experience. Everything you will learn is a process and takes time, so do not be hard on yourself. If you do not understand a concept at first there are so many resources to help you. Lastly, I would say to build relationships with the students in your cohort. You are all in the same position and can help each other navigate this new experience.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
