Hello, fellow aspiring mental health professional! I am a first-generation graduate student committed to fostering well-being and promoting social change. As an American with Hispanic and Latin roots, I bring a unique multicultural perspective to my work and studies, a perspective that is not just valuable but integral to the field of mental health. I am pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology at William James College, where I hope to concentrate in Neuropsychology and broaden the services to underserved populations through linguistic and culturally considerate administration.
I chose William James College for its outstanding and impressive faculty, each devoted to producing diverse and culturally humble psychologists who can provide accessible mental health care. I especially appreciate the school's strong focus on experiential learning and its comprehensive curriculum, including theory and practice. As an alum of William James College's Behavioral Health Service Corps, I am reaching out to current and prospective students interested in learning more about the roses and thorns of the mental health field.
Navigating graduate school can be as daunting as an immigrant navigating mental health services in the United States of America. Similarly, we here at William James College aim to be a light tower for many underserved populations in mental health; older graduate students and faculty members hope to be your anchor in navigating graduate school applications and decision-making. Graduate school requires dedication and initiative, which begins as you read the student ambassador's page. I encourage you to contact me, older students, students with interests opposite yours, and much more. Wherever your journey takes you (hopefully to William James College), be active in the community you are in, whether attending activities on campus or going out for dinner with classmates after a long day. I wish you all the best of luck, and you belong wherever you desire!
