The Rhode Island PsyD in Clinical Psychology at William James College is a 5-year, 123-credit program. All courses are offered on campus in Providence. Your education is complemented throughout your five-year program with hands-on, supervised field training each year of the program.
The practical, hands-on experience you’ll gain while you’re studying is one of the unique aspects of our doctorate in clinical psychology. This work begins in your first semester. As a student, you’ll work in a supervised clinical setting with clients, patients, and students, gaining knowledge and skills to enhance what you’re learning in the classroom, and equipping you for a dynamic career post-graduation.
What is Clinical Psychology?
The field of clinical psychology is one of the most important domains of study and service in understanding human experience and meeting the mental health needs of society. A doctorate in clinical psychology affords you an opportunity to work intimately with people at the core of personal challenges to treat individuals, families, groups, and systems; to create and direct human service centers; to teach, supervise, and consult.
