Haiti Service Learning Program - Summer 2016

On Saturday, July 16, 2016, a team of nine students and faculty from William James College traveled to Vallue (Petit-Goave), Haiti for a 10-day Service Learning and Cultural Immersion Experience. They provided training and conducted group workshops for educators, adolescents and young adults, with a particular focus on youth community engagement. Program participants were from the Clinical Psychology Department (Meghan Gowan, Nicole Morreo and Daisy Waukau), Counseling Department (Philip Ndegwa and Christine Smith), and the Organizational Leadership Program (Marie Antoine). Faculty members included Drs. Jill Bloom, Robert Kinscherff and Gemima St. Louis. Ms. Gina Dessources, a Licensed Social Worker from the Haitian Mental Health Network, also took part in the summer immersion program.
