- The Crux of School Leadership: Managing Dilemma, Paradoxes, and Complexity
Dr. Curry recently joined the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as associate commissioner. In this role, she oversees the department’s Statewide for System Support division, which provides targeted assistance to various districts including those needing intervention. Prior, Dr. Curry was the inaugural equity director for Wellesley Public Schools, establishing a new district Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Dr. Curry has been an educator for over a decade, serving as an elementary teacher, elementary school leader, and teacher coach. She has worked with organizations such as The New Teacher Project (TNTP) and Teach Plus, focusing on educator development. Dr. Curry has also served in the Boston Public Schools’ Office of Human Capital, where she supported principals with educator effectiveness, and evaluated cohorts of district teachers. Dr. Curry’s deepest passion in the field is to ensure equitable and just outcomes for all students, especially students who are least likely to have equitable experiences in schools.
