My name is Chloe Stanfa and I am a doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology PsyD program here at William James College. I grew up in Cumberland, Rhode Island and attended Rhode Island College where I received my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology.
I am a member of the forensics concentration and my research and clinical interests surround understanding the role of correctional facility conditions on mental health deterioration and suicidality in both forensic populations and exonerees. My long term career goals include conducting assessments and providing treatment in correctional settings, advocating for more rehabilitative and supportive conditions in correctional facilities through research, and serving as an undergraduate professor.
I chose to attend WJC not only to pursue the forensic concentration, but because of their emphasis on field education, and their commitment to serving historically underserved populations. I am confident that training I have received thus far has well prepared me to serve as a competent clinician in my career. The connections I have made with professors and with my peers has been invaluable and is something I know I will cherish beyond my time at WJC.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. I would be thrilled to share more about my experience at WJC with you. Good luck!
