Teresa holds a MS in Child Development from Wheelock
College and a MPH in Maternal and Child Health from Boston University
School of Public Health. She is an Infant-Toddler Sleep Consultant,
trained as a childbirth educator, and is certified through the American
Heart Association as a CPR Instructor. Teresa is also the Director of
Parenting Education for the International Maternity and Parenting
Institute.
She has been working with expecting parents, parents of young children (ages birth through five), grandparents, and childcare providers for more than 15 years in various roles. In addition to being an instructor and consultant, Teresa has experience managing safety, wellness and sleep programs; training and mentoring other educators; writing curriculum; and presenting at conferences.
Teresa is a member of SafeKids Boston, MassPinn (Massachusetts Prevents Injuries Now Network), and the Brigham and Women Hospital's Partners for Empowering Young Parents Consortium. She is also a member of the Association of Professional Sleep Consultants, and the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
Teresa offers phone-based sleep consultations, in-home CPR classes for families, and sleep workshops for childcare centers and healthcare providers through her company, Teresa Stewart: Family Solutions (www.stewartfamilysolutions.com). In 2014, she delivered poster presentations at two conferences, The National Breastfeeding Coalitions Conference, and Zero to Three's National Training Institute. In 2015, she will be leading a seminar on sleep in the childcare setting at the MassAEYC conference and presenting at the Lifesavers National Conference.
Teresa is the mother to two young children. They keep her humble, remind her on a daily basis that parenting is simultaneously wonderful and challenging, and fuel her passion for the work she does supporting and educating families.
