Clinical Psychology PsyD, and Children and Families of Adversity and Resilience (CFAR) Concentration
1) What inspired you to pursue your degree?
“I eventually fell in love with the idea of helping others.” After graduating from college with a Bachelor’s in Psychology, I began working on an inpatient unit for children and adolescents. Initially, I was unsure whether I would be able to pursue a career in psychology, but I eventually fell in love with the idea of helping others. The more I learned about psychology and the more I interacted with the patients on the unit, the more invested I became in developing a better understanding of mental health.
2) Describe your experience at William James College?
It's been amazing! The experientially-based learning approach that William James has adopted enables students to both discuss concepts and theories in class, and then apply those same concepts in real-world situations outside of the classroom.
3) What do you envision doing in your career post-graduation?
Ideally, I envision myself becoming a unit psychologist on an inpatient unit for children and adolescents. I have had the privilege of working with some amazing unit psychologists in the past, and I would love to assume that role at some point in the future.
