Responsibilities
We are seeking applicants who can teach multiple sections of our Psychometrics courses in the Clinical PsyD program. Qualified applicants for this position should have experience teaching psychometrics (or closely related topics) at the graduate level.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a PsyD or PhD in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology, have completed an APA-accredited internship, have teaching experience, preferably be licensed or license-eligible in Massachusetts, and maintain some involvement in clinical practice or consultation. Successful applicants will also have a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment. Candidates must be available to teach in-person classes and participate in on-campus activities. Position Overview
The Admission Counselor is involved in every aspect of student recruitment and enrollment. The Admission Counselor will work under the supervision of the Director of Admissions and Associate Director of Admissions. General responsibilities include student recruitment, execution of the admissions process, record keeping and document organization. This is a full-time position. Evening and weekend work is required.
Essential Functions
- Cultivate and respond to all lead and applicant communications consistently in a timely manner.
- Communicate and meet with prospective students, parents and educators to encourage and facilitate enrollment in the college.
- Reach out to applicants offering assistance and encouragement to applicants as they open their accounts.
- Verify application materials such as transcripts, test scores, pre-requisite courses, completion of degree requirements to apply to WJC.
- Create and match application records.
- Follow up with completion of admissions requirements.
- Keep current with academic program updates and offerings.
- Promote newly created programs.
- Create and represent the Admissions Office in virtual information sessions, on-campus and off-campus events and visits.
- Recruit virtual information session and open house panelists and follow up with attendee questions.
- Prepare admissions materials for campus display and distribution to prospective students.
- Process application for scholarships, verify eligibility, corroborate with Financial Aid, follow up for completion, coordinate scholarship committees and program directors.
- Review and pass applicant files in a timely manner for review by pertinent faculty.
- Generate admission decisions in conjunction with program directors.
- Follow established admission process dates with staff and applicant.
- Authenticate applicant statuses through admission process.
- Maintain records of recruitment efforts and applicant correspondence per department guidelines.
- Prepare some Admissions Office reports and statistics.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff and students.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience in a related field preferred.
- Familiarity with student recruitment or agencies that assist students in issues of educational access.
- Experience with CRM systems required; experience using Slate is a plus.
- Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the mission of William James College – sensitivity to multicultural issues and a commitment to building a socially and economically diverse student body.
- Experience and comfort with virtual recruitment and on-line program deliveries is essential.

Position Summary
The Office of Institutional Advancement at William James College seeks an Advancement Operations Assistant to optimize and enhance the department’s work. This role supports a wide range of operational and administrative functions, requiring both team collaboration and independent initiative. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. This position interacts with departments across the College, ensuring that Advancement activities are accurately tracked and measured for all stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operations
- Process all philanthropic contributions with attention to timeliness, efficiency, and accuracy, including gift coding and donor biographical data.
- Accurately capture donor intent by maintaining a thorough understanding of all appeals, funds, and gift types (e.g., multi-year and annual pledges, matching gifts, tribute gifts, online, wire, and stock transactions, in-kind donations, and club-specific funds and initiatives).
- Generate timely and accurate acknowledgment letters, tax receipts, and tribute acknowledgments; collaborate with prospect managers for special letters as needed.
- Track, scan, and upload backup gift documentation and special acknowledgments.
- Create, edit, and maintain accurate constituent records in Raiser’s Edge NXT, ensuring that all biographical and donor contact information aligns with Advancement Office standards.
- Process address updates from returned mail and participate in ongoing and short-term data integrity projects.
- Monitor and track matching gift pledges; manage communications with administrators at donor companies regarding matching gift programs.
Administrative Support
- Oversee filing and documentation systems, ensuring integrity and organization of Advancement Operations materials.
- Partner with Advancement and Finance leadership to track gift spending by William James College faculty and staff.
- Assist with the preparation of materials for Board presentations, committee meetings, and special presentations; support follow-up as needed.
- Format and enhance proposals, presentations, and Advancement marketing materials.
- Update donor information, notes, and actions; track appointments in Raiser’s Edge NXT.
- Prepare meeting agendas, presentations, and internal/external communications.
- Plan, manage, and execute special projects as assigned.
- Support scheduling of meetings and prepare related materials, including external meeting briefings.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned in support of Advancement activities
Education and Experience

Position Summary
William James College is currently seeking a licensed Clinical Psychologist to join our Forensic Services/Juvenile Court Clinic team in Norfolk and& Suffolk Counties. The Juvenile Court Clinics (JCCs) are operated as a collaboration between the Administrative Office of the Juvenile Court (AOJC) and the Department of Mental Health (DMH)
The primary location for this position for this position will be the juvenile court clinic in Norfolk County (Dedham and Quincy). The JCCs provide court ordered evaluations of youth and families from diverse racial, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds who often have complex needs and system involvement. This position has less client contact hours than most clinical positions and includes extensive assessment report writing, record review and collateral contact as major duties.
Essential Functions
- Perform court-ordered psychological and diagnostic evaluations for the MA Juvenile Courts in status matters (Child Requiring Assistance), child abuse and neglect cases (Care and Protection), juvenile delinquency and youthful offender cases, and emergency civil commitment evaluations for psychiatric hospitalization or substance use treatment
- Provide testimony on assigned cases to the Juvenile Court
- Consult with judges, probation officers, and attorneys
- Provide consultation and training as may be requested by the Juvenile Court to clinical staff, judges, probation officers, other court personnel and others (e.g. community behavioral health providers, attorneys)
- Provide supervision to work-study students, trainees, and interns when appropriate
- Provide referrals to court-involved youth and their families for behavioral health services in their communities, and other supports or services as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by Program Director
Education and Experience
- Doctorate in Psychology (PhD, PsyD, EdD)
- Licensed or license-eligible to practice psychology in MA
- Knowledge and experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
- Strong writing, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Credentialed as a Certified Juvenile Court Clinician (CJCC II) per 104 CMR 33.00 OR eligible to be certified (which is typically met if other job requirements are met). Supervision and training for CJCC certification will be provided at no cost.

Position Summary
The Dean of Students (DOS) at William James College is essential for enhancing student engagement, academic success, and retention in a supportive and inclusive environment. This role is for an experienced student affairs professional committed to the College’s mission. The DOS develops and implements strategies to improve student life, focusing on advocacy, inclusion, and achievement while collaborating with key stakeholders, faculty, staff, students (both on campus and online), and alumni. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the DOS oversees all initiatives related to student affairs and addresses the diverse needs of the student body. The DOS also manages student life issues, including resolving complaints related to discrimination per Title IX regulations and WJC policies. As the Deputy Title IX Coordinator, the DOS maintains a safe learning environment and provides preventative education regarding misconduct and discrimination. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a commitment to Inclusive Excellence, and the ability to foster meaningful relationships in a vibrant campus environment. The DOS is expected to create innovative programs that promote a sense of belonging and student retention and professional success.
Essential Functions
Leadership and Administration
- Provide leadership for administrative units, student life, and community activities aligned with WJC’s mission.
- Supervise the Academic Resource Center, manage crises, handle student complaints, and mediate disputes.
- Collaborate with Department Chairs and senior leadership to monitor student engagement, retention, and related budgets.
- Advise students in setting and achieving academic goals, also developing programs for success and community building.
- Manage and deliver the required training for students using WJC’s training software.

Title IX Deputy
- Act as the primary contact for Title IX student issues, overseeing the investigation and resolution of complaints.
- Develop education and prevention strategies for campus resources, policies, and reporting processes.
- Design training programs promoting inclusivity and managing annual student training.
- Maintain records of misconduct reports and investigations, supporting both complainants and respondents.
- Conduct climate surveys on trends in sexual misconduct and advise leadership on compliance.
- Collaborate with the Title IX Coordinator to enhance education and prevention efforts.
Education and Experience
- A Master’s or Doctoral degree in higher education administration, educational leadership, or a related field (or equivalent)
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a college or university setting.
- Proven success in a multicultural environment, demonstrating a strong understanding of diversity issues in student and workplace settings.
- Knowledge and experience in student leadership, government, Title IX compliance, sexual misconduct matters, and event and program planning.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills to build trust and demonstrate sensitivity and mutual respect.

Position Summary
The Director of Concentration in Mental Performance Consulting (MPC) at William James College (WJC) is for a full-time, 12-month faculty position as Associate or Assistant Professor. This role includes serving as the Director for the CMPC, which focuses on training graduate students in mental performance consulting within a mental health framework. Primary teaching responsibilities include online, face-to-face, and hybrid graduate courses. The faculty workload consists of teaching 18 graduate credit hours per academic year. Additional duties include academic advising, scholarly productivity, college service, collaboration, accreditation-related activities, and promotion of the program and the college. The Director must have expertise in sport and performance psychology or consulting and be committed to training students in mental performance consulting. They must also have a strong professional identity, leadership skills, and experience supporting students in meeting CMPC coursework and applied training requirements.
Essential Functions
Faculty
- Teach 18 credits during the academic year (this can be distributed during the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters). Course release is available for concentration directors. Overloads will be compensated at the regular overload rate. Teaching for other departments should be approved by your department chair.
- Serve on institutional/faculty governance committees.
- Advise 12 students.
- Engage in admissions-related work such as attending Open Houses and Interview Days and reviewing applications.
- Attend Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program Faculty meetings, two hours every other week.
- Attend an annual Counseling and Behavioral Health Department all-day faculty retreat.
- Attend an annual all-school faculty retreat.
- Attend all-school faculty meetings – once in the Fall and once in the Spring semesters.
- Attend the Commencement Ceremony.
- Attend Orientation (one day for preparation and two days for the actual orientation), usually the week before classes start, both in August and January.
- Participate in other ad-hoc committees within the department or the school.
CMPC Director
- Lead the CMPC, ensuring alignment with AASP and CMPC certification standards.
- Oversee curriculum development and ensure students receive training in evidence-based mental performance consulting.
- Develop and maintain external partnerships for student practicum placements.
- Provide mentorship and guidance for students pursuing CMPC certification.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Education: Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited program preferred, or doctoral degree in counseling or related area with at least one year of full-time teaching experience in a graduate counseling program prior to July 1, 2013 (as per CACREP 2024 standards). Preference will be given to applicants from a CACREP-accredited program. Will also consider Doctoral Degree in Clinical, Counseling, or Sports Psychology, with a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology or Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
- Professional License: Licensed as a mental health counselor (LMHC) in Massachusetts (or license eligible if licensed as a counselor in another state with the expectation of obtaining the LMHC in MA within a year of employment). Licensed psychologists who are eligible to be licensed as LMHC will be considered. Faculty are expected to have a clinical license within a year of employment.
- Certification: Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) required through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology..
- Established professional identity as a mental health counselor or professional service as demonstrated by participation in counseling professional associations, presentations at conferences, and/or continued education presentations, among others.
- Prefer 3 years of full-time or equivalent clinical experience post-master’s degree. At least 2 years of clinical experience is required, along with maintaining some involvement in clinical practice or consultation.
- At least 1 year of experience teaching graduate students in a counseling program, including experience supervising practicum and internship students.
- Scholarship: Research experience or development of pedagogical or clinical interventions, programs, or evaluation methods.
- Familiarity with accreditation compliance and assessment reporting.
- Experience teaching graduate students in a counseling or psychology program.
- Strong commitment to Inclusive Excellence in training and practice.
- Three years of post-master’s clinical or applied experience is preferred.
- Experience developing academic programs or concentrations is preferred.
- Familiarity with AASP and CMPC certification requirements

Qualifications
Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited program. Applicants will be licensed or license eligible as a mental health counselor (LMHC) or as a marriage and family therapist (LMFT) in Massachusetts and maintain some involvement in clinical practice or consultation. A demonstrated record of scholarly work defined broadly (e.g., community engagement, educational leadership, innovation, investigation, and research) is preferred. Candidates should have an established professional identity as a mental health counselor and professional service as demonstrated by participation in counseling professional associations, presentations at conferences, and/or continued education presentations, among others. Three years full time or equivalent of clinical experience post-master’s degree is preferred, but at least two years of clinical experience is required.
Candidates with a master’s degree in counseling and a doctoral degree in psychology who have dual licenses as counselor and psychologist will be considered.
At least one year of experience teaching graduate students in a counselor education program, which may include experience supervising practicum and internship students is required. Expertise in one or more of the following areas preferred: children and adolescents; psychological assessment; group counseling; career counseling; psychopathology; diversity. Experience teaching asynchronous online courses as well as synchronous in-person courses is highly desirable.

William James College announces openings for full-time Teaching Faculty Fellows in the Counseling and Behavioral Health Department beginning August 2025. The Fellowship offers a highly competitive salary and opportunities for career advancement at the College and prepares new faculty to enter the nation’s professoriate.
The Teaching Faculty Fellowship aims to recruit, train, and mentor recent graduates or early career professionals who have completed their doctoral degree in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited program preferred, or doctoral degree in counseling or related area with at least one-year full time teaching experience in a graduate counseling program prior to July 1, 2013 (as per CACREP 2024 standards). Applicants with doctoral degrees in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, with a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology or Clinical Mental Health Counseling will also be considered. The primary aim of the Fellowship is to develop a critical mass of exceptionally talented and well-trained faculty members who are historically underrepresented in academic settings. It endeavors to equip Fellows with the skills, knowledge, and expertise to engage in paradigm shifting inclusive teaching, advising, and research practices as well as in administrative and leadership positions in academia.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must be recent graduates or early career professionals with doctoral degrees in Counselor Education and Supervision, Counseling Psychology, or Clinical Psychology (with a Master’s degree in Counseling) (including those who will complete their graduate studies by August 2025). Candidates who have not completed their doctoral degree should submit a letter from their program director indicating that they are expected to finish by the time the fellowship starts. Candidates (1) who identify with groups that have historically been underrepresented in academia (including, but not limited to, individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+, individuals with disabilities, ethnically, racially, or religiously minoritized individuals, and veterans and those presently serving in the armed forces); and/or (2) with a strong interest in promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility as well as a demonstrated commitment to serving underserved communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
