This course is designed to introduce students to the supervisory role of the professional psychologist. Specific goals of the course are: to articulate one’s own experience as a supervisee, to review the relevant theoretical and research literature about supervision and consultation, to become familiar with supervision techniques; to become familiar with how supervision theory and practice is relevant to clinical consultation, to understand the distinction between therapy and supervision, and to begin to practice supervisory skills by supervising a junior colleague.
