Community Health Workers (CHW's) play a key role in ensuring the health and well-being of multi-cultural residents in a variety of community-based settings such as homes, schools, clinics, shelters, local businesses, and community centers.  This course is the second in a two-course series, designed to align with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health's recommended ten core competencies to prepare students for entry-level positions in community health.  This course focuses on the principles of client-centered counseling, motivational interviewing, working with clients from a strengths based perspective, applying core competencies to key health issues, working with families, groups, and communities, and how to effectively document CHW work.
