MA in Organizational Psychology
Degree Requirements
The MA in Organizational Psychology is an accelerated, highly interactive, competency-based, and outcome-oriented program. Students attain a 31-credit master’s degree in 11 months for full-time and 23 months for part-time attendance. Students take 22 credits of core, fieldwork, and research courses and 9 credits in either the Organizational Development and Change (ODC) or Talent Management (TM) concentration. MAOP provides a validated theoretical foundation integrated with practical application. Through in-depth skill-building and problem-based learning experiences, graduates are equipped to effectively develop and steward organizational systems, teams, and individuals in the context of uncertainty and change.
The Blended and Online Only cohorts are given the same curriculum (other than the experiential weekend-in-residences) and are taught by the same instructor concurrently. Classes include several weeks of reading, online lectures, and assignments. For the Blended option, the online/distance portion is followed by an intensive weekend-in-residence (WIR). The WIRs are held from 8:45 AM – 5:15 PM ET on Saturday and Sunday following the online portion of each course.
The cohort model is central to our educational approach. As such, you will be in a class of people who will take the same courses in the same sequence as you throughout the duration of the program. We place a great deal of value on peer learning, and expect our cohorts to include students who have practiced some of the subject matter in their professional lives. Finally, “Experiential Learning” will be employed over more traditional methods of education.
