Ethan Pollack, PhD Receives Honorary Degree during 38th Commencement

June 3, 2018 (BOSTON) – William James College, a leader in educating the next generation of mental health professionals, awarded an honorary degree to Ethan Pollack, PhD, associate professor and core faculty of the clinical psychology program on Sunday during the College’s 38th commencement address.

“Dr. Pollack’s work as a member our faculty, as a clinician, and in several mental health organizations has had a profound impact not only at William James College, but also throughout the mental health community,” said Dr. Nicholas Covino, president of William James College. “I commend him for his dedication to the field, and am proud to have presented him with an honorary degree.”

Ethan Pollack began his work as a faculty member at William James College in 1978. His professional interests include the provision of clinical services to children, adolescents, couples and families, as well as clinical work with stepfamilies. He has a longstanding interest in ethics, and has published articles in this area. Dr. Pollack currently serves as a member of the American Psychological Association’s Board of Director’s Standing Hearing Panel. He was a partner and founder of Needham Psychotherapy Associates, a private group practice, was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Massachusetts Psychological Association (MPA) from 1998-2001, and served as a member (1990-1996) and Chair of MPA’s Ethics Committee (1996-1998). He received his master’s degree and his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
