The Mental Performance Consulting (MPC) Concentration prepares graduate students to apply psychological principles to support performance excellence, well-being, and personal growth across sport, exercise, and other performance domains. Aligned with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) Graduate Program Standards, this concentration equips students with the knowledge, skills, and applied experiences necessary for careers in mental performance consulting settings.

Grounded in AASP standards, this concentration prepares students to meet the competency and content area requirements for CMPC credential eligibility:
- Professional Ethics and Standards (AASP Knowledge Area 1)
- Sport Psychology (AASP Knowledge Area 2)
- Sport Science (AASP Knowledge Area 3)
- Psychopathology (AASP Knowledge Area 4)
- Helping Relationships (AASP Knowledge Area 5)
- Research Methods and Statistics (AASP Knowledge Area 6)
- Psychological Foundations of Behavior (AASP Knowledge Area 7)
- Diversity and Culture (AASP Knowledge Area 8)
Enrollment begins with submission of the Concentration Declaration Form through the Registrar's Office on MyCampus. Following advisor approval, students meet with the concentration director to review expectations and create an individualized completion plan
To qualify for certification by the Association for Applied Sports Psychology (AASP), students must complete the following courses. This will increase the the degree program by 4 additional credits for a total of 102 (completion of a graduate 3-credit course in psychopathology prior to the Leadership PsyD program, will only increase by 1 credit).
