General Education Requirements and Conditional Admission

You may be eligible for Conditional Admission to the Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Services.

Full Admission requires a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and one of the following:

  1. 60 credits, including at least 16 of the 22 general education requirements. You will be required to complete the 6 missing general education requirements. These 6 credits can be completed at William James College.
  2. 45+ credits, including all 22 general education requirements

Conditional Admission may be offered if you have a GPA under 2.5 but meet one of the above credit requirements (A or B). If you receive Conditional Admission to the Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Services at William James College you may enroll in up to two courses in the Bachelor of Science program. You will automatically be matriculated into the program as a fully accepted student when you achieve a GPA of 2.5 at William James and meet the criteria for (B). Students with full admission status will receive preferred consideration for scholarships.

Options for Completing General Education Requirements Prior to Admission

  • You may complete your general education requirements at any accredited institution of higher education.  For a list of approved courses offered at Massachusetts community colleges, you can review the guide to transferable courses from MA Community Colleges
  • You may complete courses online, using the preapproved, flexible and cost-effective offerings from Study.com, and ACE-credit granting institution. William James College is an ACE-credit accepting institution and will accept official transcripts from Study.com.
