Recognizing the potential of veterans to heal fellow veterans

The suicide rates among veterans is as high as 20-23 per day, and our Train Vets to Treat Vets program is working toward filling this gap in care to serve the unique needs of veterans. In his recent blog post on Psychology Today, Travis Bickford, a veteran himself and Associate Director of Military and Veteran Relations, discusses his experience working in an environment that fosters the potential of veterans to be healers, rather than viewing them as “damaged goods.”
